Kindergarten Overview:

Kindergarten is a very exciting year. We are constantly discovering new things about the world around us. Kindergarten follows New York State Common Core Standards. We learn how to count, add and subtract as well as how to measure and describe geometric shapes. We practice proper letter formation and sound of our A,B,C’s and recognize over 50 sight words. Can you believe we can soon write sentences and even read? We love making friends and learning how to get along with each other.

Extra Help:
Tutoring takes place twice a week at 8:05 AM before school. Parents must provide transportation. Selected students are invited by a written note. A schedule will be provided by each classroom teacher.

Homework Policy:

Homework is given Monday through Thursday and is due back the following day. Please read with your child for at least 15 minutes each night.
